Green Tribune is a long-term initiative by Baltijos Lizdas and BC Žalgiris that uses the power of sport to engage communities in conversations about energy and resilience. In 2026, the initiative entered a new phase with the Ready for Anything campaign, presenting renewable energy not only as an environmental issue, but also as a key pillar of resilience and national security.
This year, the campaign invited people across Lithuania to view energy independence through the lens of everyday preparedness. It launched with a symbolic activation at Žalgiris Arena, where the lights went out during a basketball game, briefly plunging the arena into darkness. The blackout marked the beginning of the campaign and served as a powerful reminder of the importance of reliable energy systems.
Together with experts, LT72 and BC Žalgiris, the project delivered free practical preparedness workshops for communities across Lithuania. Participants explored crisis preparedness, resilience, the role of the electricity system, and practical solutions that can help households become better prepared for unexpected disruptions.
More than 650 people took part in the workshops, while over 720 participants assessed their own preparedness through an online readiness test. Following the training sessions, 88% of participants said they felt better prepared to respond to potential emergencies.
The Ready for Anything campaign concluded with a nighttime 3×3 basketball tournament. Young athletes demonstrated that being prepared means adapting to any situation—even playing basketball in the dark. The event venue was illuminated using green electricity generated by the solar power plant on the roof of Žalgiris Arena, bringing the campaign’s message of energy independence and resilience to life.
