Energy Independence and Security: Lithuania’s Path Forward
Research on Energy Security in Lithuania

As part of our commitment to a sustainable and resilient future, Baltijos Lizdas conducted an in-depth study into Lithuania’s energy security and independence. This research project, carried out through nationwide surveys and focus groups, sought to understand public perspectives on energy dependency, the role of renewable energy, and the importance of energy security in the face of geopolitical challenges.

Key Findings

The study revealed a strong public desire for energy independence, with the majority of Lithuanians supporting the shift toward renewable sources like solar, wind, and water. However, concerns about energy stability, pricing fluctuations, and bureaucratic hurdles related to renewable installations were prominent. The research highlighted that nearly 80% of participants view energy security as essential for national independence, while two-thirds agree that adapting the energy strategy in light of recent regional conflicts is crucial.

Towards a Greener, More Secure Lithuania

With this research, Baltijos Lizdas aims to provide a foundation for informed discussions on Lithuania’s energy future. Our findings support policy recommendations for simplifying renewable energy access, encouraging local production, and enhancing public awareness about energy efficiency. Together, we are building a Lithuania that values both independence and environmental responsibility, fostering a resilient and green future.
